Position: Equity Trader

Our Equity Trader will partner with Portfolio Manager and investment team to manage risk, identify investment opportunities and make trading decisions in response to market information and trading activity. Successful candidates will act as an intermediary between the investment team and sell-side brokers. The Trader will be responsible for implementing advanced trading strategies that conform to best execution guidelines. This person will continue to develop best execution through demonstrable pre-trade and post-trade analysis and will develop trading capabilities in terms of systems and execution venues. The Trader will also assist with the implementation of order management systems.

Position: Senior Research Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Research Analyst to join our dedicated and accomplished team of professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 5+ years of buy- or sell-side financial sector equity research experience to further advance his/her career. A team player comfortable with wearing multiple hats would thrive in our entrepreneurial, growing firm.

As a Senior Research Analyst, you will apply your established expertise in financial sector fundamental and economic analysis to generate investment ideas in domestic and international names. The Senior Research Analyst is expected to apply an exhaustive knowledge of the competitive, operational, financial, and regulatory dynamics which the companies under coverage are subject to. This research serves as the foundation to conduct differentiated, long term, bottom up, fundamental analysis on stocks, identify mis-pricing or valuation discrepancies, and communicate findings to Fourthstone’s Portfolio Manager. The ability to hold non-consensus investment views is critical, as is maintaining the humility to admit mistakes and course correct as new information comes to light. The role requires striking a good balance of intellectual curiosity, and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information. You will be expected to work closely with the fund Portfolio Manager as part of this role to identify research themes, make specific portfolio recommendations and lead macroeconomic, geographic and industry-specific research that may impact portfolio holdings.

Daily activities will include analyzing economic data, reviewing complex financial models, conducting fundamental research on assigned industry positions, highlighting key points in earnings call transcripts, and attending conferences/management meetings. This role will require the successful candidate to travel up to two weeks each month on research trips.
